advise Spenden und Unterstützung bei der Tafel Ullm

This year, the pre-Christmas season at advise was once again all about community and social commitment. Together with our colleagues, we focused on supporting people in challenging life situations – whether through donations or volunteering.

Our Donations

Thanks to suggestions from our team, we were able to support four organizations with €1,000 each. Each of them does incredible work in their respective fields:

  1. Der Wünschewagen
Entirely funded by donations, the Wünschewagen of the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund fulfills the final wishes of terminally ill individuals – whether it’s a trip to the sea, a concert, or a beloved, familiar place. This service has been making heartfelt wishes come true since 2014.
  2. Die Jugendfarm am Kuhberg in Ulm
A wonderful activity-based playground where children can take responsibility, connect with nature, and care for the animals on-site.
  3. Save the Children
This organization works worldwide to ensure that children grow up safe, healthy, and with access to education, regardless of where they are born. They are currently running a special Christmas campaign for businesses – learn more here.
  4. Die Tabaluga Kinderstiftung
The foundation helps children and adolescents navigate difficult life situations, overcome "silent traumata" and develop new perspectives for the future.

Weihnachten im Schuhkarton (Operation Christmas Child)

This year, we participated in the "Weihnachten im Schuhkarton" (Operation Christmas Child) initiative for the first time. Organized by Samaritan’s Purse, this project delivers lovingly packed gift boxes to children in need around the world – often providing the only Christmas present they’ll receive.

We enthusiastically filled boxes with toys, essentials, and other small joys, which were sent directly to the organization’s headquarters in Berlin. Perhaps you’d like to join the initiative next year? The collection period for 2025 will be from November 10–17. Find out more here.

Volunteering at the Ulm Tafel

Another highlight was our volunteer work at the Ulm Tafel. Fourteen of us spent half a workday assisting with tasks like collecting donated groceries from supermarkets, sorting them, and working in the Tafel store.

The quantity and type of food donations vary daily, and the distribution is organized fairly, taking into account factors such as household size.

We were aware of how important this work is but also came to appreciate the immense organization and dedication that it requires. The feedback from all of us was overwhelmingly positive, and we’re grateful that advise supported our decision to get involved during working hours.

Achieving More Together

We look back on these projects with pride. They’ve once again shown us how rewarding it is to take action together and make a difference.

If you’re interested in volunteering yourself, why not reach out to the Tafel in your area? Ask how you can help – whether it’s a few hours a month or on a more regular basis. Or perhaps you’d like to join an initiative like "Weihnachten im Schuhkarton". Every small contribution can make a big impact!

With this in mind, we wish you all a wonderful holiday season and look forward to more meaningful projects in the coming year.
